Family Stories

I co-founded EMPath’s Story Sharing Network to ensure that informed consent is obtained when collecting and sharing family stories. Visit this page of my website to learn more.

Belma’s Story | In May 2023, I supported an EMPath program participant who spoke at our annual fundraiser (right after the MA Governor and the organization’s CEO). I wrote her remarks and helped her practice speaking. She crushed it!

Claire’s Story | “Anything that matters to you, you need to advocate for it.”

David’s Story | “Ultimately as a parent, we want to set examples and be role models for our children.”

Maribel’s Story | “Me siento diferente porque he cambiado muchas cosas. Ya estoy tranquila en un hogar nuevo.”

Mikeya’s Story | “I have supports to help figure out how I want to make next moves or think through big decisions.”

Toneva’s Story | “Everybody needs somebody. We weren’t made to do it alone.”

Lashaunda’s Story | “I feel like I can accomplish anything! Nothing in this world is outside my reach.”

You captured my voice and experience so well that my friend thought you’d known me for years. I had to tell her we’d just met.

That was the best draft of an op-ed I’ve ever read. And I’m very picky about writing.
